Meet Shiksha, a Senior Developer at Neonomics

Hi Shiksha! Thanks for joining us today! Could you tell us a little about yourself?

Hi! I’m Shiksha; I’m originally from India and a Software Developer by Profession. I try to find happiness in the little things in life, such as in my Good Hair days, traveling to new places, and Fika with my team. I moved to Norway back in the winter of 2018.

I enjoy cooking traditional Indian cuisine, and it gives me immense joy to invite friends to my place, cook food with them and enoy good company. I was born in a small town in India called Jabalpur, famous for its waterfalls and marble rocks. Coming from a town like Jabalpur has taught me to give importance to a happy life over anything else.

What’s your role at Neonomics?

I have been working as a Developer in the Platform Team at Neonomics since April 2019. My team develops APIs for the services offered by our product.

So, what’s your favourite thing about working at Neonomics?

I must start by saying the diversity at Neonomics. When I look around the workplace, I see people from such diverse geographies and cultures, making it a fun and interesting place to work. It brings a wide variety of ideas to the table to address any given situation, which is also a very great opportunity to look at things from a totally different angle, learn from it, and broaden your mind. I also really like the fact that our senior management is very approachable, and that I’ve experienced recognition for even the smallest of value additions. Consistent communication with my supervisor ensures that whatever thoughts or feedback I have never gone unnoticed.

I also appreciate the team activities that we have, such as the cabin trip to Hafjell last winter, which allowed me to understand the Norwegian way of life even better.

What’s your background, and how did you get into Fintech?

I have experience working in Banking, so Fintech was not entirely new to me, but I did end up in this specific stream by chance 😊

Fintech is a fast-paced and exciting industry to be in, and although challenging at times, I have a strong sense of accomplishment at the end of each day.

Diverse, fun, and futuristic!
